Dear Edy,
LOL! Yes, I did read Nancy Drew. Funny how little things trigger memories from her book.
Every time I see the lavender flower Larkspur, I think of The Secret of Larkspur Lane. I think of her when I see a piece of the black stone obsidian, and how it was made from lava. And weirdly enough, paprika. Mrs. Gruen (oh my, I just remembered her name) would put paprika in grilled cheese sandwiches. So, why can’t I remember the name of someone I only met last month? Luncheon and tea with your mom sounds like fun. I hope to meet her some day. She must be so glad you were there to help.
Isn’t it interesting that sometimes we look at things so closely that we miss the picture? You must have walked past the PPT insignia hundreds of times. What is more interesting is that your Gram never called it to your or your mom’s attention. She kept that secret to herself. I wonder why? Obviously she loves you, but it seems to me that there are stories she did not share, or at least share fully.
Feels like you are on your own Nancy Drew journey. Remember, she always ate well, and she had great friends. Their names elude me. (oh no, Bess, George and Ned?) And she was always up for an adventure, secret passageways and all that.
The insignia of PPT is beautiful. Have you translated the Latin?
I’m going to send it to a friend of mine who specializes in Medieval History. Maybe she has seen it. You said it appeared in other locations?
The picture of the manse is beautiful. Is that wisteria? What a difference from New York City. No taxis, no lights, no noise. Seclusion has it’s advantages.

BTW: Did you see that Ellen DeGeneres just produced this Nancy Drew book as a movie? I had this all ready for you, and then while walking at Planet Fitness, I look up at the screens and see the actress being interviewed on a morning show! Maybe we "ain't" as old as we think! LOL Ok. I'm the same age as Ellen, and she "ain't" old either! (posted June, 2019)
