This letter wasn't written in Latin, and we didn't find it in a cavern.
Dear One,
Have you ever wrapped your fears so tightly around you, believing no one will see them?
Have you ever buried secrets deep within your heart, hoping to deafen the haunting whispers begging confession?
My pen stopped, was Godiva sharing her heart? Of course. I'd just been asked to speak at a special service in Coventry UK--that evening. What would I say? Apparently Countess Godiva was answering my prayer as the words flowed onto the page.
My dear Go-DIVAS, this is what she wants you to know. The other letters are to her granddaughter, but, this one is for you.
Here's the entire letter:
Dear One,
Have you ever wrapped your fears so tightly around you, believing no one will see them?
Have you ever buried secrets deep within your heart, hoping to deafen the haunting whispers begging confession?
Have you ever enveloped the dark lies you’ve been told, only to see them unravel in the light of truth?
Have you ever dammed up a passionate love so powerful that it breaks your heart as it pours out to be free?
Have you ever vomited a rage against injustice, with a strong intolerant voice you didn’t know you had, a voice for those who have no voice, insisting mercy must prevail?
Have you ever come to a moment where all the questions converge, and the only answer is to bare yourself in the light, do what you fear, for the sake of love?
Then come with me. Ride with me. We will face our questions together.
Countess Godiva

I shared this letter at the Corpus Christi service May 26, 2016 at the invitation of Rev. Pauline Warner who led a special worship service at Coventry Central Hall, Coventry UK. When I finished, we prayerfully paused and pondered the questions and our own responses.
Pauline nodded at Pru Poretta who led us in prayer.
Pru connected with the words to “be a voice for those who have no voice.”
We prayed for world peace.
We prayed for people of all faiths, all countries, all backgrounds.
I took this picture following the service, it is placed there to remind people to pray for peace and healing while remembering the violence that happened on that site, which included rape, murder, bombings, and more, all on the same land in Coventry UK.
Such it is in so many places on earth. May we all join together to work for Peace on Earth in the truest ways.
Blessings to you!

To Ponder: How can you contribute to the work of peace? It might be something small or even out of your comfort zone. How are we all challenged to be a voice for the voiceless?
Blessings of Peace to you,
VickiJolene
Remember, Godiva is more than chocolate. She rode through her fears and so can you!
