“Ride through Coventry naked on your horse,

and I will lower the taxes on the poor.”

That was the challenge Lady Godiva faced the morning of her ride in 1045.  Why did her husband, Earl Leofric, think she would never do it?  What happened within Lady Godiva that enabled her to do it?

For years, I have known I was to start this project and offer it to a community of amazing people who need Godiva’s voice and want to have some fun along the way. If you share my heart, I hope you will join us! I offer you the following to be clear about what I hope to offer you.

My Mission Statement: Healing the World One Story at a Time.

Summary:  “The Secrets of Lady Godiva” is a collection of letters written by a grandmother (Godiva) to her granddaughter (Queen Ealdgyth).

Purpose: To speak on the issues women face throughout time using Lady Godiva’s story and her voice: to encourage, edify, support, love, understanding, and healing.

Means: This will be accomplished by helping people to claim their gifts, who they are, and ride through their fears into a life of freedom, faith, and fun through the Blog, Newsletter and Special Events.

The Goals:

  • Enter the mystery and join us on the treasure hunt to find out about Godiva.

  • See how Godiva’s life connects with ours.

  • Deal with our own issues as we claim our own “secrets.”

  • Riding through our own fears and limiting beliefs.

  • Receive resources and encouragement from each other.

  • Create the You-Go-Diva community that loves and respects one another and is open to persons of all genders, ethnicity, nationalities, and backgrounds.

  • Have fun!

  • Enjoy some chocolate!

Godiva was no ordinary woman. She lived through invasions, violence and war, love and marriage, widowhood, motherhood, and political power. Godiva also owned vast amounts of land, making her one of the most powerful women in England.

As we peek inside her secret letters, we are nudged to jump on our own ride of courage.  Visit the Blog Page to partake in a weekly letter and conversation.

Godiva’s ride is all about courage.

She rides through her fear into a life of freedom.

So can you! Come join us!   VickiJolene
